			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Frank Niehusmann studied philosophy and history at the Ruhr-University in Bochum/Germany (MA degree in 1986);</p>
<p>1983-1998 he was author, presenter and producer of radio- and tv-broadcastings in Germany.</p>
<p>In the year 1978 he started his first experiments with electronic music; since that time he composed music for numerous concerts, mixed-media events, sound-installations, experimental videos, tv, radio broadcasts, theatre- and CD-productions.</p>
<p>Performances of his works took place in Argentina, Austria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Spain, Turkey and the USA.</p>
<p>Frank Niehusmann received scholarships</p>
<ul>
<li> 1992 at &#34;Schloss Wiepersdorf&#34; in Brandenburg/Germany</li>
<li> 2004 at the &#34;ZKM&#34; Institute for Music and Acoustics in Karlsruhe/Germany.</li>
</ul>
<p>He was honored with several awards:</p>
<ul>
<li> 1997 at the competition of &#34;Forum Geschichtskultur an Ruhr und Emscher&#34;, Dortmund/Germany, for his audio-visual composition &#34;Heimat &amp; Antarktis&#34;,</li>
<li> 1998 at the festival &#34;Blicke aus dem Ruhrgebiet&#34; in Bochum/Germany for the music video &#34;Emscher Park Overdrive&#34; (collaboration with Arnd Stein),</li>
<li> 2000 at the festival &#34;Theaterzwang&#34; in Dortmund/Germany for the multi-media play &#34;Mama&#34; (collaboration with Rolf Dennemann),</li>
<li> 2002 at the International Competition of Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art in Bourges/France for his composition &#34;Untertagemusik Nr.1&#34;,</li>
<li> 2004 at the &#34;European Bell Festival 2004&#34; in Karlsruhe/Germany with the commissioned work &#34;WAS DA LOS IST&#34;,</li>
<li> 2006 at the ZKM-competition &#34;Short Cuts: Beauty&#34; in the frame of the &#34;ISCM world new music festival&#34; in Stuttgart/Germany for his composition &#34;Gasometer&#34;,</li>
<li> 2006 at the &#34;PHONURGIA NOVA&#34; radio art competition for the radio play &#34;Maschinen &#8211; ein Hörspiel&#34; (collaboration with Karl-Heinz Mauermann).</li>
</ul>
<p>2000-2002 he was member of the executive committee of &#34;artscenico e.V.&#34; (theatre, dance and multimedia productions, international projects)<br />
